As believers, we eagerly await the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know that His return will not only bring an end to this world as we know it, but it will also usher in a new era of peace, righteousness, and eternal life.
While we do not know the exact time or date of His return, we are called to be prepared and to actively participate in preparing the world for His coming. Here are a few ways we can do just that:
1. Share the Good News
One of the most important ways we can prepare the world for the return of Jesus Christ is by sharing the good news of His salvation. We must proclaim the gospel to all nations and invite others to experience the life-changing power of His love and grace.
2. Live a Life of Holiness
As followers of Christ, we are called to live holy and righteous lives. By striving for holiness and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us, we become a living testimony of the power and presence of Jesus in our lives. Our transformed lives can inspire others to seek a relationship with Him.
3. Pray for God’s Kingdom to Come
In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught us to pray, ‘Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’ We can actively pray for God’s kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth. Our prayers have the power to align our hearts and the world with God’s purposes.
4. Seek Justice and Mercy
Jesus taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves and to seek justice and mercy. By actively engaging in acts of compassion, advocating for the oppressed, and standing up for what is right, we can help create a world that reflects God’s justice and mercy.
5. Be Watchful and Ready
Finally, we are called to be watchful and ready for the return of Jesus. We must be vigilant in our faith, continually seeking His guidance and wisdom. By staying connected to Him through prayer, studying His Word, and fellowshipping with other believers, we can be prepared for His coming.
As we await the complete and permanent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us actively participate in preparing the world for His coming. Through sharing the good news, living holy lives, praying for God’s kingdom, seeking justice and mercy, and being watchful and ready, we can make a difference in the lives of others and help usher in His kingdom on earth.
